Worship at St. Stephen
Our Virginia Synod Bishop, Bob Humphrey, has recommended that our churches close through Wednesday, April 1. Our Operations Team has decided to close our building to all additional meetings and activities until that time. This includes Yoga Class, Bonhoeffer Book Study, AA and Al-Anon meetings. Our Preschool will be closed through at least March 27.

Be prudent! Stay home if you can. Wash your hands! Be sensitive to others who may be feeling anxious or isolated. Let’s keep in touch by phone and e-mail with each other. This is a sabbath time, a time to slow down and rest in God’s grace. We pray that cautious actions now will help limit the spread of the virus.

Did You Know that the ELCA is
the Most Ecumenical Church Body In the United States?
Since 1997, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America has been in Full Communion (with interchangeable sacraments and clergy) with the Episcopal Church USA, the Presbyterian Church USA, the United Methodist Church, the United Church of Christ, the Reformed Church in America and the Moravian Church.
That is why, each Sunday, prayers are offered for congregations of these churches in Full Communion with the ELCA: to highlight our unique openness to other traditions.
