Roberta, 75, and Preston Burton, 74, of Williamsburg, met in grade school in Roanoke before he moved to California. They reconnected in their college years while Preston was home during summer break. He went calling on her, she was engaged to someone else, but broke up with her fiance to be with Preston. They’ve been married 51 years.
